Leaving

This website is a record of my move to a farm more than 30 years ago. It is about how life was, and how it is now. Home is the eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.

After many years of living and working on the land, the farmer and I have loved it, learned from it, and will eventually leave it. We haven’t left yet, nor are we selling, but we’re winding down and working towards leading a different lifestyle.

Me …

I am a mother to three daughters, a grandmother to a little boy and two little girls, a partner to a gorgeous man, a farmer, and a teacher. I have lived in the Wheatbelt for almost 35 years, moving here when I was 19 years old. Interestingly, I haven’t really left.

I am also a little academically inclined. Impressive as my quals may seem, they did not come without tears, late nights, lots of self-doubts, and an undying commitment to a sense of personal achievement.
